Recently students in the Fitness Engagement Program attended Focus Pilates Studio, situated at Suite 1/193 Pacific Highway, Charlestown where they participated in a Pilates Floor class under the instruction of principal owner, Jullian Went.
This was a fantastic opportunity to engage students in another form of fitness.
The Pilates method is a non-impact form of exercise that focuses on developing physical characteristics such as:
• core strength and stability
• balance and coordination
• increased flexibility
• increased muscular tone and endurance
• improved posture and alignment
• enhanced athletic performance
Next students were taken into Merewether and Bar Beach where they undertook a series of exercise programs including a session on team bonding.
