Personal development, health and physical education (PDHPE) is mandatory from Kindergarten to Year 10.
PDHPE provides students with opportunities to explore issues that are likely to impact on the health, safety and wellbeing of themselves and others – now and in the future. Students also participate in challenging and enjoyable physical activity, improving their capacity to move with skill and confidence.
The PDHPE Faculty strives to provide a range of learning experiences that will allow students to explore concepts, form opinions, work as a part of a team, be physically active and clarify their values in relation to health and physical activity concepts.
We aim to foster within students an understanding of the value of physical activity and skill development to being a healthy person, physically, socially, emotionally and mentally. We are open to new ideas and opportunities so that our curriculum will continue to evolve and better suit the needs of all students at Lake Macquarie High School, allowing for all students in PDHPE to be Active Learners.
